New desk

Last entry in this book - time to choose a new large sketchbook journal. This one was begun in March 2010, so slightly less than a year to fill it up. I have completed a couple of pocket sketchbooks and a travel sketchbook (England) during the same period. It's nice to see productivity finally rising a bit.

New colours

How do you like this selection?



They're so delicious I almost want to eat them. I bought them today for an experiment with toned papers that I am planning on. I also bought three huge sheets of toned paper - a grey, a cold blue and a dusty green:



I plan on making a simple accordion sketchbook with all three colours represented. Either using a butchered second hand hard back, or the super simple minimalist accordion with a stiff back and front but no spine.

I forget whether the paper was Canson or Fabriano. The pencils are Faber-Castell Polychromos.

Handball

R watching the World Championship in men's handball on TV - Denmark is playing Sweden for a place in the semi-finals. Result: 27-24.

My daughter is completely engrossed in Assassin's Creed III at the moment.

I'm thinking about starting to use at least some of my sketchbooks in a different way - including notes, ideas, journaling, unfinished pages, etc. The problem with text on pages is that blocking it out often ruins the page, yet I might not want to post my ramblings online for all the world to see and read.



Perhaps I will stop posting scans of every page, so that I may have a more private space to do my thinking with a pen, although I kind of liked that dogma for my sketchbooks - scan and post everything, not just the good stuff.
